Cafe project designed as the first of a local roll-out program, applying simple material selection with a modern flair. Services included kitchen layout and coordination with the owner and consultants as well as permitting process and contract administration. With limited entry and retail space, the layout focuses one’s view on the dessert and various pastries on display in refrigerated cases. To help our clients meet their specific goals, we provide customized services that may include design of interior character, permitting processes, construction and bid documents, assistance with contractor selection, as well as overall project, schedule, and construction management.
Theo Chocolate Factory - 3400 Phinney Building
This mixed use development project to create a new chocolate factory, retail outlet, offices and a future restaurant involved interior and exterior renovations to a historical building that originally functioned as a street trolley car barn and most recently a brewery.
The design team worked closely with the owners to create a unique chocolate processing plant. It is the first of its kind in the United States in the past 20 years.
The last phase of this project renovates the south facade to open a restaurant space to the street and adjacent ship canal. The design is reminiscent of the wide expanses of the trolley barn and creates an indoor/ outdoor space for dining.
